

KARL SIMONS
Chief Health, Safety and Securities Officer, Thames Water
Karl is the Chief Health, Safety & Security Officer at Thames Water. He has 30 years of experience in industry, having worked across all continents and numerous safety critical industries including oil, gas, minerals, rail, roads, construction and water.
​
He is an Electrical & Mechanical Engineer, holds a postgraduate Masters Degree in Environmental Management, Safety & Health, is a Chartered Occupational Safety & Health Practitioner and Member of the Institute of Directors. Karl’s advice is regularly sought by
Government and he is a lecturer at the University of Cambridge. He also holds a position as Non-Executive Director on the Board of the global organisation ‘Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor’.

Over the last 7 years at Thames Water, Karl has supported the company to develop a clear vision and strategy for each of the disciplines he oversees that has led to the implementation of waves of initiatives and world class performance outcomes.

ELIZABETH HAMPSON
Health and Life Sciences Strategy, Health innovation Director, Deloitte
Elizabeth is a Director in Health and Life Sciences strategy consulting at Deloitte, leading projects that facilitate access to health innovation for the benefit of patients, payers and industry. Over a decade of working with policy makers, life sciences industry and leading charities, she has become known as a leader in access to health innovation, the value of health innovation (including digital health and data, med tech and pharma) and the policy levers required to get the right innovations to the right patients.

Through her work with all types of health stakeholders, she has built a strong
understanding of the complex challenges and perspectives of all the individual participant organisations and how to overcome them to generate solutions that work. She gets results by facilitating collaboration to create health innovation that makes a difference to patients and in navigating and negotiating through the complex environments required to get those products and services to the patients who need them.

Elizabeth’s career and academic background combines strategy, health policy, health economics, analytics, investment analysis, bioscience, negotiation skills and coaching. Her career started in investment research at UBS and Goldman Sachs where she wrote over 100 global investment strategy papers, developed excellent analytics and completed her Chartered Financial Analyst. Elizabeth also has an MSc in Health Economics and Policy from London School of Economics, a BSc in Biology and a PG Cert in Coaching.
Elizabeth is an advocate for mental health and wellbeing at work and speaks regularly on the topic. She has also been on the board of a leading European patient experience data charity as a Trustee for 5 years.

CATRIONA SCHMOLKE
Senior Vice President Operational Centres of Excellence, Global, Jacobs
Accountable for Centers of Excellence for HSE, Global Security & Resilience, Global Supply Management, Project Excellence and Sustainability.

Since 2016, Catriona has been the Senior Vice President for Jacobs. As a key global leader enabling the business to deliver excellence, she has significant experience on the integration of acquisitions and a recent major divestment. Integration and supporting the business towards a unified culture is key. Catriona has global accountability for the following areas of Jacob: Safety, Sustainability, Security & Resilience, Economic Supplier Diversity and Quality.

Catriona is mission focused, delivering results through building and leading global teams. She enjoys mentoring others, supporting talent and, in particular, my role as global sponsor of our ACE Network which provides a platform for raising awareness and education of all aspects of diversity including seen and unseen disability in the workplace. She is focused on growth and adding value to the business with a creative flair for problem solving and building highly motivated and successful teams.

Previously with Jacobs, Catriona held a variety of Operational Vice President positions with P&L accountability, including the 500 strong Sustainable Solutions and 875 strong Water and Energy Businesses (resources as at 2016). Prior to 2010, she held a senior leadership role in the UK Business development team where she was account manager for major water and nuclear clients, leading the win for significant >£1bn contracts. Prior to 2004,
Catriona was a Business Center Director with Babtie Group and built and led the
Environmental Remediation and Consultancy Business with P&L accountability.
Appointed a Fellow of the Royal Academy in 2016, she supports the work of the Academy on 3 national committees; Risk & Audit, Engineering Leadership & Scholarships, and The
Membership Panel.

Catriona is a STEM Ambassador and public speaker for women in engineering and engineering as a career.

DAWM MOORE
Group People Director, Murphy Group
Dawn joined Murphy Group and has been instrumental in shaping the strategy throughout the recent Covid-19 pandemic.
​
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), areas of expertise include diversity, wellbeing, reward, people development, and organisational change. Outside of work Dawn is a mum to two children aged six and four.
​
Previously whilst Director of Human Resources at Morgan Sindall, Dawn led the development of a transformational and inclusive culture. Her strategy recognises the wider need to address national skills gaps in the sector by tapping into pools of talent who have not previously considered a career in the sector or that want to balance family life with a
rewarding career.
​
Dawn recognises that change cannot be achieved by just developing a raft of policies, but also requires a cultural shift in thinking and behaviour. This thinking has led her to not only
achieve cultural change at the company, but also being awarded the National Working
Mum’s Champion accolade in 2017 at the Workingmums.co.uk Top Employer Awards,
with the business going on to win the Best for Family Support award in 2018. Also in
2018, Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure won the top accolade for transforming workplace culture at CECA’s Inspiring Change Awards, the Best Diversity and Inclusion initiative.
